wreck this journal, week 6

so, um, yeah. shuffles feet and bows head down, smiles sheepishly … the wrecking of the journal, well … you’ll see …

but first, a wee bit of cautious if you are the slightest bit squeamish about, well, you know … boy spit and not the cute 2 year old drool spit but full on teenage boy goob. yeah. you’ve been warned.

otherwise, i think the video speaks for itself don’t you?

peace and love my fellow wreckers and also to those who have no idea what the heck i am doing, The Next Chapter: Wreck this Journal.

And go give Jamie some love at her newly designed space, Jamie Ridler Studios!!

OMG.. that was too funny. Your boy totally rocked the wrecking part.
I haven’t participated in the wrecking of the journal (though I’ve been tempted to pick one up at the bookstore).. but girl, you are so creative!! Let that intimidation go *poof* up into the clouds and wreck it in your own crazy, creative way.
    Have a great day!! xo

Hee! So awesome! It’s lovely to hear your voice (for some reason I never watched your other vlog) and all of your fabulous expressiveness :)

I haven’t been inclined to get a WTJ for myself but I very much enjoy seeing what others have been doing to their own.

Way to go Aiden! He rocked that wrecking…although I have to admit being ever-so-slightly grossed out by his ‘gobbing’ in your book…:-)

And I’m sorry…but I don’t think your fruit stickers count. You’re going to have to kick it up a notch honey! :-)

    Love you…

    xoxo

LOVE what Aidan did and LOVE that you gave it to him to help you get a jump start. I have had my journal for almost a year and every now and then I pick it up and do a few pages. I’m glad I didn’t join your group because I know I would have been intimidated too. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. Just let go. Break free. Wreck it.

Love the honesty - these women are intimidating, everyone is so creative! I so relate … and yet I know when you do a bit yourself, I will think, “wow, that’s impressive!” about you too!

I don’t mind boy spit at all … he did a great job, tho I was getting a little nervous with the fire, lol.

Oh Darlene this was sheer genius and beyond hysterical.
Over a year ago I was in Borders bookstore and saw this book on display. I immediately picked it up, thumbed through it and truly wondered if the perfectionist in me could ACTUALLY wreck this journal. I bought it with the best of intentions, looked at it for over a week, and then gave up and gave it to Adam. The first thing he did? Grabbed the Bic lighter. Too funny, great teenage minds think alike. xoxo

Oh come on - if I can do it - you can do it. Jump in - the water’s fine and it’s so much fun once you get started. But, I do have to admit that it took me two days to work work up to what your son did in two minutes :)

That was a great video. Your are awesome and can do any thing you want pour the juice on it. All you have to do is have fun with it. Don’t worry about others. This is my 2nd week and I did not care about it being on the Internet but it was not easy to have hubby see me be crazy. As a kid my mom never let me do anything. I had to be seen not heard. So I was always worried about what other people thought. Now I am free to be me. And I still worry a bit. I do not share every thing. But it is so freeing to let go of rules. Even if it it a simple hole poke in the book. take care see ya next week.

Bwhahaha! Fabulous vlog! Your son is SO adorable and oh so funny and so much like YOU!!!
What a great post this is!
I can totally relate to your feelings of intimidation and being “stuck”. I have been getting mine out every Thursday and trying to do some “wrecking” for Friday’s posts.
Hope you don’t mind, but I may copy your brilliance and film my hatchling doing something to my journal!!!
Carry on Dar…you are one of a kind!

Oh cool - my security word was beauty!

Anyway, I completely understand how intimidating these folks can be. I can’t think of a thing to draw when asked to draw, so I go to Etsy and find a picture that I like and copy it. I’ve done that for nearly every piece that I’ve drawn (badly, I might add) but I enjoyed every second of smelling the crayons and picking the color. I didn’t realize that I had missed doing that until I got this journal. I saw one woman’s journal where she painted this gorgeous angel with wings made out of spun gold (honest!) and I had just finished trying to draw an umbrella without making it look like a footstool - I immediately thought -”well, I won’t photograph this page and show it, everyone would laugh” and that’s when I knew I had to just keep drawing and photographing. I hope they laugh at my stuff, it’s funny! I hope that others get even an eighth of the enjoyment I’ve been getting. I hope you get into some serious wrecking, you’ll love it!

OMG, I love how your son makes sure we get a GREAT shot of his spit - an action shot and then also the artistic, sideways, see how dense and 3D this is shot.

There’s no wrong way to do it, love. Enjoy a week of wrecking fun :)
