lucky star

“What to do if you find yourself stuck in a crack in the ground underneath a giant boulder you can’t move, with no hope of rescue. Consider how lucky you are that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn’t been good to you so far, which given your current circumstances seems more likely, consider how lucky you are that it won’t be troubling you much longer.” (douglas adams)

us

i am not stuck in any cracks these days and am finding all the boulders move pretty easily but that wasn’t always the case and i don’t like to take my good luck for granted but i do indeed feel like a pretty lucky girl these days and i get to share it all with my best friend, the man who loves me with every ounce of his heart. its lovely to be loved and to love someone who really sees you and loves all those bits and bytes even the crazy ones.

its always been easy for me to write my pain or write out the angst and confusion but am learning that it is just as important to write out the happy, to document the beauty in my life. on saturday, we spent the morning working together shooting a beautiful loving couple and it was such bliss to do what i love with the man that i love with people who are in love. i will share some of the photos later tonight. afterwards, we heading to the farmer’s market for some lunch and laughter and organic hand-crafted wanders, our cameras still in hand. life is good. i am a lucky girl.

I love that photo of Duke ~ I just think you have such
a gift with portraits ~ yes you are technically gifted
but you have such a poetic eye and you really have this
amazing ability to capture the soul and warmth and
humor of your subjects ~ and that little whimsy you
grace your portraits of Duke with ~ I am so charmed with
them:)

love you! and thrilled with your joy ~:)

you are so twinkly:)

I am SO happy for you both, this new venture is so exciting! I really hope you manage to ditch the ‘day job’ soon!

That Douglas Adams quote cracked me up this evening. And YOU look so goshdarn cute with those braids! So glad you’ve found your lifelong sweetie. :)

I SO echo what madelyn said. :) You are gifted my friend.

I liked this post. I’ve always written more when I’m sad or hurt or angry. I don’t know why that is. Happiness is me in action, not usually writing. I’m trying to change that, however. I’m actually starting a new blog/project. I don’t want to forget my old blog, but I don’t want it anymore. I want to chronical the joys in life, the things that make me sing and laugh. The photos. :)

Now, if I could just decide which blog server to use I would be set! LOL

And ironically enough, my anti-spam word is exactly what that project is about…bliss

xoxo’s to you, beautiful girl

you have quite the garden of quotations. i’ve just read two so far :) but to me the contrast/paradox of what i have read is so cool. i love shots from the mirror.

it’s been lovely catching up on all your posts, hon…. and can i just say: Madonna’s greatest song ever!!! i still listen to it loads on my iPod, and i think it’s stood the test of time. and of course, i immediately feeling thirteen again, thinking she’s the coolest chick i’ve ever seen (and desperately wanting to be her LOL - i don’t think teenage girls today have any role models that are quite as inspiring as madonna was back then). xx
